Bob has been involved with the BMW community for over 40 years, as an enthusiast first starting with his first BMW in 1976, a used 1972 R75/5 which he still owns and occasionally rides. He started his used parts business Bob’s Used Parts in 1981 after exiting the home improvement and freelance photography business. In 1990 he opened the exclusive BMW dealership known world over as Bob’s BMW which has remained one of the country’s top customer service, motorcycle, parts, accessories and riding gear sales ranked operations ever since. The dealership services and hosts visitors and customers from all over the country, and to a smaller degree the world.
Bob also owns and shares most of his personal BMW motorcycle collection in a dedicated 4,200 SF facility across from the dealership which makes up the Vintage BMW Motorcycle Museum. It is home to 75 (out of a +- 100 bike collection) of BMW motorcycles starting with a very original 1925 R32 previously owned by the president of Butler & Smith, several Steib sidecar rigs, over 100 examples of framed or mounted BMW advertising and promotional wall art, numerous examples of original BMW dealership signs, banners and advertising memorabilia plus numerous antique display cases full of interesting BMW and period aftermarket artifacts, parts, accessories, special tools, literature, manuals and period race awards from BMW's storied history.
